ActiveSG Merdeka Generation Roadshow

To understand more about Active Health initiatives and what it has to offer to Singaporeans, I joined the outreach team on their events, the first one is the Merdeka Generation Roadshows.

The MG roadshow shares about active aging programmes and Active Health was there to engage seniors on the benefits of the Active Health programmes - onboarding and signing up for the app to encourage usage of sport-related facilities and physical activity.

Onboarding at Active Health Labs is an experiential programme to help citizens understand their current health and fitness level through a body assessment. Following which, health experts will personalise wellness plans for them such as exercises and lifestyle habits. They also have themed group classes, workshops (eg, sleep/nutrition), workout sessions and fitness assessments for all to join.

There were also booths set up by Health Promotion Board and People's Association to encourage seniors to sign up for active ageing programmes at special rates.

Attempting the calligraphy, really bad at it!

This roadshow may not have much relation to my screen-time research but it allowed me to understand Active Health event approaches so I can brainstorm ideas on possible research studies at future events with Active Health on screen-time. I shared the event with Shiu Heng as its in line with his research on active aging.
