Dr Anthony Yee from Royal Commonwealth Society of Singapore reached out to us for his recycled plastics research and my level 2 degree students took up the challenge and began working on an Avant Garde Islamic collection with recycled plastics and sustainability in mind.
For starters, we visited ESTA to source for fabrics, they're a factory that produces for local Singapore brands and they have leftover fabrics from production. They sell deadstock fabrics to students at low prices. The students are also encouraged to incorporate leftover fabrics from their past collections into this project.
