Currently in the market, there is no sensoriphysital card game system that educates and involves all domains: social interaction, physical activity, screen-time, sleep and nutrition.
Proposed name: How Long Can You Survive this game? / Are You Indistractable?
A sensoriphysital (senses + physical + digital) interactive card game system to evoke awareness for a healthy digital/life balance
Gameplay:
Players can choose to play individually or as a team.
Each player starts with 10 Health Points, they will have to accumulate their health points through action cards and challenges and exchange Health Points for a Health Trophy.
The first team that collects a designated number of Health Trophies will win the game.
Purpose of web-browser app:
1. Cut down resources (Plastic tokens for health points and trophies, additional game decks and count down timer)
2. When a player exits the app to reply a text message, access a notification or check their social media, health points will be deducted from every player of same team. This is to encourage players to switch off from digital distraction to stay present and focus on having fun with their family and friends during the game. Players can also build resilience against digital distractions along the way.
3. Refresh new content for decks such as - Guess what (guess which physical activity is this), Crack It (quizzes/questions relating to health) and Challenges (mind-body) and can add seasonal specials - Christmas, etc.
The main gameplay takes place in physical setting as the main action card pile will be in physical form. The mobile app only acts as a support to the game, to display the Health Points and number of Trophies for each team (it will be multi-player connected). The other decks are based on chance cards draw from action pile which is not the main game play.
This was Version 1 which I tested with Jason, Dion, Luntat and Jes
Here is Version 2 and I'm going to start testing the analog version with different groups of people.
Since the game is a combination of physical cards and a digital app support, I will test the analog version with different groups of people first and get feedback for the gameplay while I pitch the game idea to app developers and see if they would like to form a team with me.
