This approach to life lived slowly does not refuse the usage of things such as mobile phones, Internet, and access to goods and services. - Steager, Tabitha, 2009
"It is a cultural revolution against the notion that faster is always better. The Slow philosophy is not about doing everything at a snail's pace. It's about seeking to do everything at the right speed. Savoring the hours and minutes rather than just counting them. Doing everything as well as possible, instead of as fast as possible. It’s about quality over quantity in everything from work to food to parenting." - Honore, 2004.

DIY Youtube guru who makes tutorial videos that teach how to sew
I've borrowed this book ' How to be An Explorer of the World' by Keri Smith for my probe kit before and I thought it's really relevant for Slow Living concept
Smith's mission: "To document and observe the world around you. As if you've never seen it before. Take notes. Collect things you find on your travels. Document findings. Notice patterns. Copy. Trace. Focus on one thing at a time. Record what you are drawn to."
Keri Smith's How to be an Explorer of the World is an invitation to rediscover the world around you. Artists and scientists analyze the world around them in surprisingly similar ways, by observing, collecting, documenting, analyzing, and comparing. In this captivating guided journal, readers are encouraged to explore their world as both artists and scientists. - bookdepository
I've started a Youtube channel 6 months ago, making sewing videos for my degree students and I decided to share more of my personal sewing projects as I go, hoping to inspire others to try out my DIY tutorials. I've done several projects from teaching how to clone patterns from wardrobe to sewing a simple t-shirt. I'm taking it slower to focus on my MA research, teaching and photobooth company. About 3 weeks ago, I started a new series called 'Challenge Accepted' where I invite people who are new to sewing to take up the challenge as I teach them how to make and sew simple projects.
In this DIY Felt Pouches tutorial, I invited Jes and we made pouches for each other.
In the end, she said it was a good experience and now that she knows how to make a pouch, she would love to make more for her friends and family. I hope to post this video in the next two weeks.
Last Friday, I had another DIY session with a friend as he wanted to make a laptop sleeve for his close friend.
