Design lab: Laser Cutting - 'Ooooh Stairs'

We learnt how to do laser cutting and engraving for wood and acrylic this week. This is the final product where I turned my 'data' into interactive spiral stairs, the distance of the steps and angles are not fixed and can be adjusted.



Using the data we did for our P5.js coding exercises, we are tasked to create an acrylic product, for me I used the pie chart.

Process of laser cutting:

I thought of making it more fun and interactive instead of the initial idea of just sticking them down like stairs so we used a G clamp and a hole driller to drill a hole through the layers.
